So the deadline is burning my tail again. I don't have much to say or to make any excuses. But I have a lot to draw my joy of the trip into words in the entry.
So the second day of my Texas life was totally amazing. I totally felt the breeze and the power of my real teenage journey right after Kelly started her car.
We set up the GPS map in Kelly's car and set off the journey. We drove from Lorena's neighborhood to downtown Dallas, got lost again. But later on we were all right.
When we were driving in Dallas, I could feel the Texan breeze right in my heart and all around me. The best things to describe Texas are the stars and cowboy hats around the states. If you are driving on a road and you don't know where you are, if you see these things, realize that you are right in the Lone Star State, Texas.
Along the way we went, we dropped by at a gas station for lunch. We had Mc' Donalds.
We ordered nuggets and other food. But the best thing I had was the sweet and spicy dip which tasted exactly like chicken sauce in Thailand. So it was such a lovely combination. I was eating something Thai-ish in my favorite state. The first home in the second home. I wonder why can't people have 2 homelands.
After lunch, I had a cigarette outside at the gas station. When I arrived in Dallas, it was evening. I thought it was hot enough for me. But when I was smoking there, I felt like I was a pie being baked in the oven called Texas. It was extremely hot. I seriously thought that the ciggy might burst in my mouth for some reason.
We continued driving for about 3 more hours and finally we reached Austin!
If I compare Austin to a lady, she must be very lovely, athletic, interesting, thoughtful, powerful, and beautiful. Woudn't you want to date this lady?
The sun was about to get off from work when we arrived in Austin. That evening, Kelly gave an A-4 paper. I looked it up, it was a list of 50 great things to do in Austin. I was surprised.
We discussed where we can possibly go while I was there. Some events and places are very seductive, such as a jazz pub, the museums, and the lake. So we highlighted those place... of course on the A4 paper.
We were not really hungry. Kelly suggested me to take a quick tour around downtown Austin first. So if I am interested in anything in the capital, you would take me later.
The first place we went was the University of Texas at Austin or UT. It was extremely tremendous! The buildings are very beautiful and all the lights just touch the skin of the building softly.
Kelly introduced me some important building in the campus. They are all beautiful.
I think all of the building in UT are beautiful. Imagine when you are at the place you love and have been wanting to come all along, even a trashcan can become beautiful. Trust me.
I like the streets around the campus. They are so lovely. They look young, fresh, and cozy. Very seductive to walk around. But only at night when the weather is nice to me.
Then Kelly took me to a donut place near the campus to introduce me something spicy. At first I thought it wouldn't be so spice for me because I strongly adore my nationality. Thai people eat very spicy food, so I thought it would be fine for me.
But at the frst bite, I almost had to split it out right away. Super, super spicy. But totally very good!
We had that for appitizer. Haha.
After we munched the spicy puffs, Kelly suggested me to walk around. The first place she wanted to took me was very interesting.
It's called Toyjoy.
Kelly told me that it was a toy place. In my thought, kiddish pictures came up. I did not see anything interesting to go in. I was quite hetitating whether to go or not.
But when I went in there, the only word from my mouth was, "Wow.".
At that small shop, there were about a million toys in there. And there are no stupid kiddish toys I imagined at first at all. Some of the toys are very very interesting. I waled around the shop with a tremendous joy.
I felt like my imagination of creation was just flying like a bird. It was hesitating to learn how to fly, but once it tried, it liked it. A million of ideas came up in my mind and I felt wanting to do some artwork from these amazing toys right away.
The thing is the toys are very very expensive.
Some of them are from Thailand. Such as a little stupid barbie. In Thailand, it cost about 5 cents. But at Toyjoy, it costs $100.
What the fuck?
After I drank in the surpricing price in Toyjoy with a shoking feeling, Kelly took me to eat.
She wanted to go to a Mediteranean restuarant, I was extremely EXCITED!
BUT IT WAS CLOSED.
So we decided to go to a grocery store to get things to cook for our dinner.
The store was about to close, but we still enjoy food-shopping. It was the first time for me to know that can mix juice together to create a new taste. Seriously, I just knew it. Not kiddind at all.
We picked the grace and apple one, vegetables, sushi, spring rolls, and some other stuffs.
We came home. We were exhausted. We were hungry. But we had a lot of fun.
Kelly cooked me dinner.
I didn't know know when did I close my eyes.
I led Austin sang me a lullaby.
She knew I was very tired.
I didn't have a chance to wish her a good night.
